Bembridge - Neighbourhood First Responders – We are a voluntary organisation operating through the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service and the St.Johns Ambulance. The idea of the Bembridge Neighbour First Responders work is to help those people who live in the Bembridge area only. If the ambulance control received a 999 call from Bembridge, they will despatch an Ambulance and at the same time they will dispatch a first responder.   We can be there within a few minutes to help until the ambulance arrives. At the moment there are only three of us operating this system but 8 new people are being trained. When these people are trained, it will mean we can give Bembridge a 24 hour 7 day a week cover.
